Year 1892
Aldo Gila founded Fratelli GILA with a small trading company, which in time became one of the primary local representatives for international brands.

Year 1975
Al Tawakol acquired Gila with a vision to expand its core competencies, making it a leading regional firm. Gila Electric had kick-started its new journey by becoming an agent for Merlin Gerin and Telemecanique products.

Shareholders in EMG Egypt, which later became Schneider Electric.

Signed its first UPS service contract.

Established its First power panel factory in Gesr El Suez, Cairo.

Formed a strategic partnership with Schneider Electric and became its agent.

Started commercial operation of 5MW Solar Plant in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

Launched Winnergy Solar 20MW PV plant Benban, Aswan, Egypt.

Extended its services and has been a provider of data center solutions.
2009
Acquired ISO TUV9001, TUV18001 and TUV14001 certifications.

Established a Solar Energy Division.
